Patrick Sampair, Attorney at Law
Patrick Sampair has over 31 years of legal experience and has helped thousands of Arizonans with their family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, child relocation and alimony (or spousal maintenance) disputes. Mr. Sampair has expertise resolving complex financial matters that arise in a family law dispute, drawn in part from his experience litigating civil and criminal tax cases during his early years of law practice. Mr. Sampair is committed to providing his clients with effective and affordable legal representation; he is dedicated to minimizing the negative effects divorce proceedings and related disputes can have on children.
Education & Experience:
Mr. Sampair received his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University Law School in Nebraska in 1981, and a BA from Creighton University in 1976. He is admitted to practice law in Arizona and Minnesota, and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona. Mr. Sampair is also admitted to practice before Arizona state and federal courts, the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Ninth Circuits and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for Arizona.
Mr. Sampair is a former Judge Pro Tem in the Maricopa County Superior Courts, and a former Adjunct Professor of Law at the William Mitchell School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1992, he was appointed by the U.S. District Court of Arizona to represent indigent defendants pursuant to the federal Criminal Justice Act.
James Bruce has practiced law in Phoenix Metropolitan and Glendale since 1978. He grew up and graduated high school in Rochester, New York. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Haverford College in 1973. He worked for the Pennsylvania Crime Commission in 1973 and 1974. He attended Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. from 1974 to 1977. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Georgetown in 1977.
James Bruce took the Arizona State Bar and was admitted to practice law in 1977. He moved to Glendale, Arizona, in 1978 and has been practicing law in the Phoenix Metropolitan area ever since.
Education & Experience
In February of 2000, the State Bar of Arizona gave James Bruce the distinction of being named Certified Domestic Relations Specialist. This is a distinction which is given to only a few domestic relations lawyers in the State of Arizona. It is given when one shows a proficiency, expertise and knowledge of the nuances of Arizona Family Law. Although there are thousands of Arizona Family Lawyers less than 100 have earned the distinction of being named a Certified Domestic Relations Specialist.
James Bruce has appeared and practiced in Courtrooms throughout the State of Arizona. He has appeared before the Arizona Court of Appeals to argue a variety of Family Law matters. James Bruce has been a sole practitioner doing exclusively family law since 1985. He is married with four grown children.

Mark’s enthusiasm, customer service focus, and creative problem solving skills and abilities have helped thousands of clients conclude their family law cases efficiently and effectively. He is a strong advocate who listens to his clients and strategically pursues their needs and interests. He presently serves as a Judge Pro Tem on the Maricopa County Superior Court and acts as a Family Law Mediator and Arbitrator in Family Law matters.
Mr. Robens graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School in 1981, and served as Law Clerk to the Honorable I. Sylvan Brown and Robert Pickrell, both Maricopa County Family Law Superior Court Judges. He has lectured extensively on Family Law matters for the American Bar Association, State Bar of Arizona, Maricopa County Bar Association, Legal Education Institute, and the Arizona Association of Certified Public Accountants. He is also the former Chairperson of the American Bar Association Family Law Public Relations Committee and member of the Arizona Supreme Court’s Working Group on parent education.
